The Department of Biological Science & Engineering is one of the newly established department of the Institute started in July 2012. It offers M .Tech (Biotechnology) and Ph.D degree. The department has 03 highly qualified and dedicated faculty who strives to produce competent professionals.
The faculty members have been delivering expert lectures in various research and academic organization of India and abroad. The department faculty have extra as well as intramural research projects i.e MPCST and MP Biotech Council.
Objectives of the Department:
To conduct and promote teaching and research in cutting-edge research in agriculture genomics and medical proteomics for current and future relevance for the nation.
To establish state-of-the-art infrastructure for genomic and proteomic analyses, with the explicit goal of improving public health and agriculture in India through use of genomic knowledge and technologies.
To seed research, education, translation and service networks among clinicians and researchers from different disciplines for promotion of better public health through the establishment of genomics infrastructure in hospitals and medical colleges.
To anchor young talent on the national soil and build capacity on Genomics and Proteomics through specialized postgraduate programs and organizing various training programs for postgraduate and Ph.D. students in Biotechnology.
To accelerate teaching and research innovations
To carry out teaching and research on Genomics and Proteomics and to redefine agriculture and healthcare in Madhya Pradesh by simulating clinical and agriculture excellence by training and research.
Currently we are running the M. Tech and PhD program in Biotechnology.
